It's been an incredible journey. It began with my diagnosis at 6 years old, bracing beginning at 11, which continued until surgery at 17. Here I stand, at 21, no longer a scoliosis patient.
And now I continue another journey, one I began almost four years ago-- a journey on the other side of scoliosis. The scoliosis is still there, but at a smaller degree, and will forever be, now with two rods and 18 screws. But I'm on the other side. Those years of anticipation and wonder about the possibility of surgery are over. Now I use my past experiences to meet others, help those struggling with the same things I faced, and show the world that God is truly an amazing God.
And in case you're wondering-- it's not the end of my blogging, either. I'm living life as a spinal fusion survivor. There's always something to blog about!
Congratulations Katie on reaching 4 years post-op. Glad you are going to keep blogging, you have been a real encouragement to me and many others.
