II Corinthians 12:9-10

"And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities... for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong."
II Corinthians 12:9-10

Familiar Favorites: Pay it Forward

Now it's time for me to combine my passion for music and my desire to help others! On Thursday night at Community Baptist Church, several young musicians and I performed a live concert of "familiar favorites" and raised about $1,200 for the Ronald McDonald House Charities!

In summary, the RMH in Chicago provided a place for my parents to stay during my week-long stay at Shriners Children's Hospital, about 2-3 hours away from home-- and with no charge. It's an incredible place that allows families like mine to be together during difficult times.

The night began with both fun and beautiful selections. After I gave a power point presentation about RMHC and what they have done for me and my family, the rest of the night contained more movie theme songs and fun music, a couple of which included my own laboriously created arrangements.

I am learning more about organizational skills, to say the least, between advertising, programs, the music itself, sound systems, display tables, power points, and who knows what else. But I am relieved to look back on a successful night that was actually fun!
