Christmas at Shriners!

It's the most wonderful time of the year, and some kids and their families are having to spend this special time in hospitals. I spent about a week in the hospital around Thanksgiving two years ago for my spinal fusion. But now it's Christmas time, and most of the patients at Shriners Children's Hospital are very young and excited about the holidays, only to spend it away from home under a lot of stress and pain.

These kids and their families need some distractions-- something to take their minds of the present hardships and lift up their spirits.

And that's what we hoped to do today! I've been looking into volunteering at Shriners and the Ronald McDonald House, and a new idea came up that I knew my college friends would be excited about. Sixteen of us music majors and two amazing faculty members got together, and we made up a program of Christmas music to share with the wonderful people at Shriners.




Merry Christmas to all the patients, families, and workers at Shriners Hospitals for Children!
